The VMI Keydets know they face a tall task on Saturday at Scott Stadium when they lace 'em up against Virginia.
The Keydets are 1 and 1 this season with a win over Lock Haven and a road loss to William & Mary. The last time VMI played Virginia, the Cavaliers won 42 to nothing in 1991.
Sparky Woods was once the offensive coordinator under George Welsh at UVA and realizes his team's challenge this weekend.
"It's a great opportunity, it's America. You know you get a chance to play games like that, so we're really excited about that. I think it'll be great for the Corps and everybody associated with VMI and Virginia, so I see it as a win-win, and we're gonna go over there and compete. We want to make it a good football game. Our guys have a lot of pride and our guys have a lot of self respect in the ability to be a football player, so we get to find out and match ourselves against some of the best players in America," said Sparky Woods, head coach at VMI.
