It's hard to believe, but we're already looking toward the 2012 basketball season, with many college and conference media days taking place the next few weeks.
The University of Virginia held it's Men's Basketball Media Day on Wednesday, with Coach Tony Bennett and the players talking about the coming season. The Cavs finished last year with a final mark of 22-10 and 9-7 in ACC play.
UVA had an early opening-round exit in the ACC Tournament with a loss to NC State, but still made the Big Dance.
Much to their disappointment they had an early exit there as well, where their season came to an end by the hands of Florida in their first game.
Ending the season losing 4 of their last 5 games certainly left a bitter taste in their mouths, as they look to improve in 2012, even with the loss of Mike Scott and Sammy Zeglinski.
"We just want to play good basketball. Certainly we'd love a chance to finish well in the conference and try to get into post-season play. I think that's always a goal for us,” coach Tony Bennett said. “We'll be a different team but still build on what we did last year. I think we'll, as I said, look different but I think there's opportunities for success."
