Wahoos fall to 19th in AP Poll
Virginia dropped four spots, to number 19 in the AP poll Monday, after letting its rival from Blacksburg come in to John Paul Jones Arena and beat the Cavs at their own game: defense. Virginia Tech held Virginia to a season-low 45 points in last night's upset.

Most of the focus, and deservedly so, was on stopping senior forward Mike Scott.

The star had 8 points in the first half, but just two after the break as the Hokies threw help defenders at him all night long.

"Triple-teaming me, double-teaming me. I just got to make better passes out of the double-team," Scott said. "I think I threw a bad pass to Jontel, I think I threw it too high."

Sophomore guard Joe Harris said a lot had to do with the Hokies' athleticism.

"I felt like, to close out back on shooters when Mike would kick it back out and not give up any room and rhythm looks," Harris said. "I think that's a large part of what played into our off shooting night."
