Virginia Tech could win out and teams ahead implode, but those behind (Southern California, Oklahoma, Iowa or Cincinnati to name a few) could rise up.
If you're wondering how crazy it can get, think back to 2007, when two-loss Virginia Tech finished third in the BCS, while two-loss LSU won the national title. Crazier yet, despite housing the Hokies by 41, the Tigers didn't bypass them in the BCS standings until the final week.
Or, recall last Saturday, when Florida quarterback Tim Tebow's concussion reminded us that even the best teams are a freak injury away from crisis.
