It's a controversial play; one that's been replayed thousands of times since Tuesday night. It could have changed the outcome of the Sugar Bowl for the Virginia Tech Hokies.

In a News7 exclusive interview, Danny Coale said the past few days have been a roller coaster of emotions.

Danny's father says sometimes he'll just look at his son and see him shaking his head, and his Dad know's he's replaying that last touchdown catch over and over in his mind.

But Danny said he's not mad at the call; not upset with officials. He says he has too many good memories at Virginia Tech to let that one play overshadow his career.

"It's tough. This is hard," said Danny Coale as he removed his name tag from his #19 locker.

Packing up his locker in the Virginia Tech Hokie locker room is almost as hard for Coale as it was to walk off the field for the last time in New Orleans.

"I didn't want to go into the locker room and take off my jersey. That was probably the hardest thing. I can't believe it's over; five years went fast," said Coale.

A five year career at Tech that ended with disappointment. A one-handed, diving catch for an over time touchdown, that could have won the Sugar Bowl for the Hokies, was ruled incomplete. That call still haunts this wide receiver.

"I thought I had it. Obviously the reviewer in the booth saw something different, saw something I didn't see and ultimately the call's up to him. At that point in time it's out of my hands, and I did all I could do," reflects Coale.

Coale says he's gotten support from friends and fans since the Sugar Bowl, and that's helping him to move on.

"There are a lot of things that I'll remember. I think I'll remember far more than just that last catch. It's the freshest on my mind right now, but I've had five years of great memories with my teammates, coaches and these fans, the fans have been incredible," said Coale. "So I've got a lot of good things to remember and I'm going to remember those."

Danny Coale says it's his dream to play in the NFL. He says he's going to give it his best shot.

He's on his way right now to Atlanta for a pro football combine, where team representatives check out the talent.

If you remember, Coale wasn't heavily recruited to play college ball, but turned into a star as a Hokie.
