Hokie fans have been watching their team play in bowl games for the last 19 seasons, but the reality of  this year is that the season could end in November.

Virginia Tech must win two of its final three games to become bowl eligible, and with how the Hokies have been playing this season, that's by no means a guarantee.

A winning tradition and ACC titles have become commonplace and are solid recruiting tools. But last night's loss to Miami meant Tech won't have a 10-win season -- an eight-year streak that's come to an end.

"It's a little disappointing. Virginia Tech, we're all about tradition and it's been a tradition for a couple of years now to win 10 games in a row. It's very disappointing,” Hokies wide receiver Demitri Knowles said.

Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer said: "There's a thin line between being OK and not being OK. Sometimes you just assume that you should win 10 games and that it just happens and it don't just happen. It's not quite clicking so it's a team game and we're just not quite clicking. I think they're trying as hard as they can. It's very frustrating, very disappointing. I know our fans are disappointed and we're disappointed because we're disappointing them.  We're trying to get this thing right.  We just gotta keep hanging in there and we're gonna get it turned around."
