Hokie nation is extremely fond of the Sugar Bowl and all the memories that have been made here, and that includes Hokie associate head coach Shane Beamer.
Shane held his dad's headset cord during the 1995 game against Texas and actually played in the 2000 game against Florida State.
Tonight he'll wrap up his first season serving on the same staff as his old man.
"It was a lot more fun than I even thought it would be," the younger Beamer said. "It's just a special place. And I'm not just saying that because I'm coaching here. Just the family atmosphere and the way the coaches get along with each other, the fan base, I mean it's just a special place and you don't ever forget that."
"Then to be around a great group of players, and fun guys to be around and having a chance to win eleven games. We've still got a chance to win twelve games and finish it up with a big win."
