We start in Radford with a rematch of a thrilling regular season game between the Bobcats and George Wythe. Radford won that meeting on a late field goal. Friday night, round two in the Region C, Division 2 semis.
Radford had good reason to be pumped heading into the third, they have a 19-0 lead over their visitors.
George Wythe tryin to make a game of it, but the drive is cut short after QB Alex Willis has his pass picked off by William Minter at the Bobcat 21 yard line, and the Maroons were kept scoreless.
QB Dontae Carter had the offense working. He hands off to Kevin Adkins from his own 35, and Adkins busts a big one, 25 yards to the Maroon 40 and a first down.
On the following play, Carter hooks up with Grant Mitchell, and Mitchell puts on a move or two, outruns the D and he's into the zone, 56 yard touchdown, and Radford was cruising up 26-0.
Later in the 4th, GW is trying to get on the scoreboard, on 3rd and long, Willis finds T.J. Williams for 10 to set up 4th and short.
On 4th and 5, Shaquille Saunders takes down Willis in the backfield, Radford preserves the shutout in impressive fashioin 26-0 over George Wythe.
The Bobcats are now set for a showdown with Chilhowie next week in the Region C Division 2 final.
