Amherst County carried the Seminole banner to Danville on Friday night for the 58th Shrine Game between the Lancers and George Washington at JT Christopher Stadium.
The Eagles were down 13 at the half.
We start in the third quarter with the Eagles on 4th down. Khalil Hairston tosses it to Myles Bennett. He raced for the end zone but the Lancers' Darius Wilson comes up with the touchdown-saving tackle a yard shy of the goal line and a turnover on downs.
In the fourth quarter, the Lancers' Kyle Edwards handed it off to Dominique Brown, who works his way around the Eagles, jumping over one. He was eventually pulled down near the 10-yard line.
Two plays later Amherst was looking to put some points on the board. But the direct snap went through the hands of Marquis Brown. The Eagles recovered it and run it all the way back near the 50-yard line.
But it wouldn't be enough. The Lancers hung on for the 19-6 win.
