The Blacksburg Bruins had a playoff shot. Dave Crist and company were in a battle with Bassett for the final sport in Region Four, Division Four, and a win over Christiansburg would certainly help the cause.
Up 14-0 in the second, Christiansburg quarterback Mack Muldoon hit Gabe Quesenberry over the middle for 24 yards, and the Demons were in business in Bruins territory.
Six plays later, Dequan Green Gause went over the left side for five yards and a score. It was 21-0 midway through the second.
Late in the half, the Bruins’ Daniel Stinespring fielded the punt and broke free from the crowd. He took it back 58 yards to setup the Blacksburg offense, following his blockers downfield and that led to a Bruins field goal.
To the third. The Bruins were on the move again. The 11- play drive came to an end though with a fumble and Logan Atkins is there to recover for Christiansburg. The Blue Demons went on to win it 28-3.
