Roanoke County schools Cave Spring and William Byrd hadn't met the last two seasons, but Friday night the Knights and Terriers got re-acquainted at Bob Patterson Stadium in Vinton.
Cave led it 22-14 at the half, but the Terriers were on the move. Zac Hill can't find a receiver so he tucks it under and scrambles for a first down. But the drive ended with no points.
They got another opportunity on the punt return a few minutes later. Jake Barton looking for a block or two. He slices and dices back to the Knights 28 yard line.
But it was Cave Spring from there. Sam Wright gets the handoff from Reece Kingery and busts up the middle for 12 good yards.
Two plays later, Wright goes up and over for the touchdown. Wright tallied 145 yards in the game and Cave Spring won it 28 to 14.
