This week in Wytheville it was a battle between the defending state champs from Clintwood, and Coach H.S. Ingo's George Wythe Maroons.

The stadium flags were whipping around tonight and passing was at a premium in this one. Neither team could move the ball early as Maroon quarterback Jordan Byrd got his pass picked off by Dillon Dalley at midfield late in the first to setup the Green Wave with good field position.  They couldn't get points off the turnover though.

Later in the second, the Maroons got to the red zone but Byrd once again got picked by Dalley and Clintwood took over at the 10 yard line. The Green Wave marched down the field and into scoring position but Dalley's play action pass was intercepted in the end zone by George Wythe's Isaac Baltazar. On the ensuing drive the Maroons moved the ball right back as Justin Snavely bulldozed thru the line for 35 yards to the Clintwood 23 with just a few seconds left in the half. Andrew Storms came on to try a 40 yard field goal but that came up short.

Both schools scoreless at halftime and at the end of three quarters, but George Wythe finally won it 7 to 0.
