Salem was in big time bounce back mode Friday night at home against Blacksburg.  The Spartans were flat out embarrassed last week at Cave Spring.  Salem hadn't lost back-to-back games since the 2002 season.

Salem was up 13-7 at the break in a defensive struggle with the Bruins on a brisk fall night as Old Glory flapped in the wind.

The Bruins trying to get something going in the third quarter, but Terrence Travis has his pass picked off by the Spartans' Arius McConnell.

Salem had a chance to put this one away, down inside the redzone and ready to go in, but the Bruins 'd' with an uprising to shut things down and keep them in it.

But with three ticks left, Travis throws it up on the hail mary.  Salem's Chad Fisher knocks it away to preserve the 13 to 7 Salem win over Blacksburg, setting up next week's game with Christiansburg.
