Over in Blacksburg, the Bruins rushed for 264 yards last week, but Friday night's opponent, the Liberty Minutemen, racked up 276 big ones, including 194 from Anthony Reynolds.
The Bruins got things in order before the start of the second half, already up 17 to 14.
From the 16 yard line, Cody Outhong faked the handoff and took it himself down the sideline, broke a tackle for the Minutemen touchdown and the lead, 21-17 early in the third.
Later, the Bruins lost the handle, and Liberty's Anthony Reynolds scooped it up and headed to paydirt on a 31 yard return for six more, and the Minutemen were up two scores at 28-17.
Liberty looked for more. Outhong tossed to Reynolds. He followed his blockers and dove for the touchdown, but the ball got knocked out before he crossed the plane. So it was first and goal from there.
Reynolds cashed in from there on the easy TD.
Liberty led 34-17 late in the third quarter and they won it over Blacksburg 47 to 17.
