It was senior night in Pearisburg Friday night as Giles wrapped up its home schedule against Floyd County. There was a freeze warning in effect for Giles County, but the Spartans certainly warmed things up against the Buffaloes.
Brad Kessinger takes the snap and does a little bit of everything. Breaking tackles and breaking free. Then he goes across the field and back up the middle. When all was said and done, Kessinger finished off a 69-yard TD run. And that put Giles up 7-zip.
Giles forced a safety. And on the ensuing free kick, it's another senior coming up big. Cody Vaught returns the ball 47 yards with some nifty footwork bringing it down to the nine-yard line and putting the single wingers in business again.
Then Kessinger did the rest from the three-yard line for his second touchdown of the night putting Giles up by 16.
Later in the first quarter, Ethan Mitchell helps put it out of reach. He busts through the line and he rumbles for a 62 yard gain, through the Floyd County defense before he's dragged down just short of the goal line.
Mitchell scored just a few plays later and Giles whipped the Buffaloes 44 to 6.
