The Eagles were taking on their second straight Piedmont District foe this week as they traveled to Ed Bassett Stadium to face the Bassett Bengals.

At half, the home team trailing 7-nothing. Bassett's QB McKenzie Lawson made a late pitch to Chris Martin but Martin couldn't find any running room so he reversed his field and jetted for 26 big yards for the Bengals. Martin finished the drive on the next play.  He sniffed the zone from 5 yards out, tying the game at 7-all early in the third quarter.

The Eagles then cranked up the ground game behind that massive line.  E-J Harris fought through a host of Bengals across midfield for 34 hard earned yards. Four plays later, big man Ryan Wade got the backfield handoff and worked his way in for the 10 yard tally.  Franklin County was on top 13 to 7 at that point. They kept it on the ground the rest of the way with Wade.  He added an 11 yard score.  Franklin County went on to get the road win 28 to 7 the final.
