Glenvar was back at home this week in Highlander Heaven, trying to do something the Highlanders had never done before---pick up a win over Giles.
In an impressive halftime show we saw not one but three flaming batons from the Glenvar twirler. (Don't play with fire kids, unless you're really talented.)
Glenvar was down 7 in the 3rd quarter, and facing 4th and long. Levi Mullins put it up to Shaquille Bonds. Forget the first down, they got a touchdown and the game was tied at 28.
Giles came right back. Brett Whitlow shook a couple tackles at the line then turned on the burners. 37 yards to paydirt and the Spartans retake the lead.
Glenvar was about to score and tie this thing up but Mullins passed ws tipped. Garrett Lee was there for the interception and took off down the sideline. Huge change of momentum as he returned it all the way for a touchdown. 42-28 Giles.
After a turnover on downs, it was the Spartan's ball again. Ian Mann sliced and diced through the D. Check out the end of this play, he lost the ball but it bounced right back to him. It was a 55 yard score for the final points of the game, Giles won 49-28. Still undefeated all-time against the Highlanders.
