The Glenvar Highlanders' playoff fortunes were far from settled headed entering Friday night. Kevin Clifford's club certainly could help its cause with a win as the Highlanders made the short trek down Route 460 to take on Eastern Montgomery.
The Mustangs were clinging to a spot in the postseason.
On their third play from scrimmage, Shaquille Bonds jumped the James Fields pass and intercepted it on the nice diving catch to give Glenvar the ball.
Ian Cole took advantage of the turnover. He rambles in on the 11-yard score and it was 7-0 just 2 and a half minutes in.
Late in the first quarter, Levi Mullins tried to add to the lead. He hit Markel Jones, and Jones is off to the races, breaking a tackle and scooting 43 yards to the East Mont 45.
Mullins then hit Bonds in the right flat. He also shook a tackle and motored in on the 30-yard TD. Glenvar all over Eastern Montgomery, 62-32.
