Two single A powerhouses collided tonight in Augusta County as the Dogwood District Co-Champion Gretna Hawks had quite the task on their hands as they tried to upend the defending Division one state champion Riverheads Gladiators.

Gretna led the home team 14-7 at the break.

Opening possession of the third quarter. Direct snap to Tony Miller. The former FFE Player of the Week takes it in all by himself. Hawks jump up by two touchdowns.
After a fourth down stop by Gretna, Dyon Rosser finds Dip Pannell open in the soft spot of the defense. He's got some help and he's off to the races. 59 yards and the Hawks have a comfortable lead midway through the third quarter.
Gladiators not done yet. Handoff to Logan Moore. Big hole on the right side makes it a two score game.
Riverheads with the ball again. Zach Clymore likes what he sees, but he doesn't see Miller. The senior getting it done on both sides of the ball tonight.
Gretna knocks off the reigning champs, 28-14 the final.
