The Magna Vista Warriors were doing their best to stay among the ranks of the unbeaten tonight at home. Halifax County up for the challenge though as the Comets took on their second straight Piedmont District opponent.
Warriors star QB Harvey Taylor looking to take down another Giant. Sophomore tailback Bryce Hankins gave him some help. He does some work on the pitch play and scurried 65 yards to tie the game at 7 in the first quarter.
Later, Taylor tried to make it happen on his own, but the ball pops free and the Comets recovered. Six plays later, Alonzo Bennett gets the hand off and takes off down the far side but gets tackled just short of the goal line.
But on the next play, Halifax quarterback Stan Bradshaw fumbles the ball to Deshaun Penn and he's going the other way 98 yards. Penn rumbles for the touchdown and Magna Vista stays unbeaten with the 42 to 21 win over Halifax County.
