Time to jump over to the ultra competitive Seminole District, which had the possibility of having no teams with a losing record. Two playoff contenders, Liberty and Amherst County tangled Friday night, but only one would head into their respective postseason on a high note.
Early on Liberty's Austin Porter handed the ball off to Nick Clark. Clarks sliced up the Lancers secondary, shedding tackles and dragging defenders as he picks up 34 hard earned yards.
But the drive was stopped short when Lancers corner Darius Wilson picked off Porter's pass in the end zone giving the ball and the momentum back to the Lancers late in the first quarter.
The Lancers threatened inside the redzone, and Dominique Brown got the call and found the zone putting the Lancers up 14 to 7.
Big man Isaiah Coles for Liberty tried to answer. He headed up the middle of the field and cut to the near sideline picking up a big chunk of yards and moving the chains for the Minutemen.
But it was all Lancers in this one as they won it 46-14 .
