The Lord Botetourt Cavaliers officially introduced their new head football coach at the school Friday morning, naming Jamie Harless as the replacement for Tater Benson, who resigned following this past season.

Harless has been an assistant at Cave Spring since 2005, spending the last three seasons as the Knights defensive coordinator.  He also spent time on the staff at Franklin County.  Harless inherits a program that hasn't posted a winning season since 2000, but he's out to change that in a hurry.

"I think these kids are hungry and I think they want to win. Obviously, the facilities are definitely very nice and the administration is very strong here.  I've always known this was a very supportive community. They've gotten behind and donated money and gotten the things that the kids need to be successful.  They've given them the tools and i really feel like with the type of people here, they're hard working people, those are good ingredients to have success."
