Magna Vista, the Piedmont District Co-Champs, was looking to get the season sweep over Pulaski and bounce back from an upset loss to Bassett last week.

But Pulaski had the home field advantage for this post-season showdown and they came out swinging.

On the Cougars’ opening drive Marcus Johnston finished it off with the QB keeper and it was 7-0 Pulaski.

The Warriors tried to respond but J.D. Sutphin got through unblocked to sack Calin Jamison for a loss of 10 and Magna Vista had to punt. It was the start of a very long night for Jamison and the Warriors.

"We all was just stopping people. We played as a team,” Pulaski linebacker JD Sutphin said.

"I think you gotta keep him in check and keep him bottled up. We didn't want to let him get going and tried to give him pressure from different angles,” Pulaski head coach Todd Jones said.

On the next Pulaski possession, Johnston handed the ball off to Zach Akers who broke a tackle and ran in for the 31-yard touchdown, to make it a 14-point lead for the Cougars.

Magna Vista started to get a drive going, but after getting to midfield they turned it over. Jamison's pass was picked off by Malik Eaves who returned it to the 37.

Pulaski held that 14-0 lead going into the break and they opened the second half the same way they did the first. Johnston got in for the touchdown, pushing the lead to 21-0.

Just 3 minutes later, the Cougars found the endzone for the fourth time. Johnston went to Codie Blevins 30 yards for the score. A missed extra-point made it 27-0. Pulaski went on to shut out Magna Vista 32-0.
