It's a new era in Daleville where Jamie Harless takes over as Lord Botetourt’s head coach.
The former star lineman at Emory and Henry, comes over after serving as a Cave Spring assistant, and says it's been a smooth transition.
"I think the process was slow at first,” Harless said. “When we first opened the weight room up, we only had about 25 kids, but the numbers increased over time. We took our time with the coaching staff and I think we got some really good guys to come in here and get involved with these kids. They work really hard. Had really good attendance in the weight room the rest of the summer. They have a very good attitude about what's going on. We worked 'em pretty hard and now it's time to put in the knowledge of the game and seeing where it takes us from there.”
Harless worked for two years in the construction business, and there's no question, he's out to build a winner at Lord Botetourt.
