Salem High School's Marty Bishop is like a lot of fullbacks, in that, he doesn't earn a lot of style points.
But last week against Cave Spring, Bishop did plenty of heavy lifting, helping lead the Spartans to what is believed to be the largest comeback win in school history.
Bishop ran over, around and through the Knights, racking up 298 yards of total offense and three touchdowns. Down 26-0 to 29 unanswered points and the victory.
It was a performance built on hard work and dedication. Coach Magenbauer calls his senior captain a football junkie, the kind of guy you have to kick out of the weight room.
Bishop is in his second season as the starting fullback and third as a defensive end. As a child though, bigger than the other kids, his career began on the offensive line.
