The Brookville Bees have plenty of weapons this season.  Kendall Becraft runs the show for Jeff Woody's team, but last week against EC Glass, Becraft got a helping hand from Michael Carwile.

"Carwile has patiently been waiting for his number to be called and he didn't have many offensive carries-- I think he had eight  offensive carries-- and he was able to bust open a couple of those and he also had a couple catches where he was able to find the hole and run to daylight and score touchdowns," said Jeff Woody, head coach for Brookville.

Carwile helped lead his team to the 48-13 district win with four total touchdowns-- two rushing, one receiving, and one that he returned off an interception at his main position as linebacker. It was his first ever pick-6.

Michael Carwile, "It happened so fast. I just happens. I didn't expect it to happen but I'm glad it did."

Jeff Woody, "He's kind of like the quarterback on defense. He knows his position, knows his responsibilities and he can correct everybody else and get everybody on the same page. He's physical. He's fundamentally sound and he's very intelligent. That's what you want in a linebacker."

And what would a stand-out player be without a nickname?

Michael Carwile, "They call me Carl-weezy. I don't know why. It hit my freshman year and I guess it just stuck all the way through."

Call him what you want, but don't call the Bees' captain-- who's generously listed at 5-7-- "short".

Jeff Woody, "He's a little vertically challenged but you can't tell him that. He doesn't believe it. He's got a big heart and as far as stats are concerned and how he plays on Friday nights, you see that."

Michael Carwile, "I feel like it kind of motivates me actually. Just to prove to everybody that the short guy can hang with the big guys. It definitely feels good when the short guy comes out on top. "

Carwile is used to winning-- as the Bees are now 6 and 0 on the season, and he's also got something going off the field, that's sparked some intra-squad competition.

Michael Carwile, "I would like to say I have the crown in NCAA out of the team. Guy Morris thinks he's got us, but I've got something for him."

Jeff Woody, "He hangs with the guys and plays Playstation. He's pretty good at the NCAA. XBOX I guess that's what it is these days, but we've had a tournament. I'll show him what it's all about."

Whether it's real life or simulated football, Carwile has the work ethic and the know-how to get it done.
