This week, Rural Retreat tried to avenge an early season loss to George Wythe.
George Wythe faced a third and long on their first drive when Jordan Byrd faked the handoff then passed to Dominique Crockett who caught it and got upfield but he got stripped by Dominique Epps who headed up the sideline the other way to reach the endzone for a TD. 6-0 Rural Retreat.
Byrd got back to work a little later. This time he found Hardy Lester for a nice 20 yard gain and a Maroons first down. A fews plays later, they cash in. Dominique Crockett did the honors in the endzone to make it 7-6.
George Wythe went on to oust Rural Retreat 22 to 6.
