Rustburg might be the surprise team in the Seminole District this season.  Fresh off a 24-nothing shutout of Glass last week, Randall Jones and the Red Devils were in Bedford to duke it out with Liberty.

The honor of homecoming queen tonight went to Melanie Smith, who is currently making her college choice between Harvard and Penn, congrats and best of luck to her.

In the first quarter, Rustburg had a 7-0 lead when Uriyh Hammond catches the Liberty punt and follows his blockers for 28 yards across midfield to the Minutemen 40.

A few plays later, after a holding penalty, Rustburg QB Randall Jones rolls outside the pocket and finds his big play man Richie Sparrow who is wide open deep down field, he side steps a tackler and takes it to the house to make it 14-nothing.

Moving to the second, the Liberty offense tries to shift the momentum by pounding the pill with running back Matthew Smith, this one goes up the middle for 19 yards to the Rustburg 35.

However, the resillient Red Devil defense will force the turnover on downs after Liberty QB Josh Martin's
heave on fourth down falls incomplete. Rustburg indeed moves to 2-0 in the Seminole district with the 21 to 12 win over Liberty.
