Friday night's tussle between Alleghany and Staunton River had huge implications for postseason play
It was Senior Night in Low Moor and the band had the crowd jammin out.
We pick it up in the third. Staunton River's Chris Tyree gets to the corner, turns on the jets, and the Golden Eagles extend their lead to 19-7 early in the second half on the 61 yard score.
Alleghany was trying to stay in it. QB Seth Bradley finds Ethan Nicely across the middle on the seam route. The secondary has no shot. He takes it 38 yards to the endzone, and it was 19-14 River in the third.
The Golden Eagles get their rhythm back. Tyree was on the ground again. On the very next offensive play, Tyree having himself quite the night, he goes for 73 yards for the touchdown. Staunton River takes the 27-14 lead in the 3rd.
They try to put it away on their next drive. Tyree went up the gut 16 yards to keep the chain gang busy deep in Mountaineer territory.
DeShawn Martin finished off the drive a few plays later, he gets in on the sneak, Staunton River uses a monster second half to take down Alleghany 40 to 28.
