Altavista had beaten William Campbell twice already this season. The Generals thought the third time might be the charm Friday night at English Stadium.
It was a chilly night in Altavista for the duel between the Generals and the Colonels.
Altavista struck first. Juan Thornhill takes the snap and dances in on a 9-yard score and it was 7-0 in the first.
It was a two score game when William Campbell turned to Marques Adams who busted up the defense on his way to a 64-yard TD gallop. That put the Generals on the board at 14-6.
Late in the first, Daequan Myers broke a run to the outside on a third-and-long. He got the first down and then some, breaking off a 57 yard pickup inside the William Campbell 15 where the Colonels setup shop.
Two plays later, Destin Brown knew what to do with it. Brown scored 6 more, and Altavista advanced with the 55 to 22 win. Franklin is up next.
