The Fort Chiswell Pioneers are in the midst of a playoff run. But on Monday the team got together to celebrate lineman Coleman Thomas' signing to play college football at Tennessee.
Thomas will enroll in January at the University. He joins a program that has won six national titles. The opportunity to play there is all he could ask for.
“I want to play in the SEC and I have a chance to go in and play early with graduating early, so coach Jones really has a family feel at Tennessee, and I'm looking forward to many great years to come,” Thomas said.
Fort Chiswell coach Stephen James said: “Coleman has done a great job for us and this whole program. He's a kid that is not a Prima donna. He is about the program and he's about winning. He's just been a great example for all the kids on the football team.”
