BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -- -

Bud Foster isn't sure he's ever had a player show up at Virginia Tech as ready to play as Kendall Fuller --  and Foster has been the Hokies' defensive coordinator since 1995.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Fuller will be the last of four Fuller brothers to play for the Hokies, and more than likely, he and brother Kyle will be the starting cornerbacks.

Defensive backs coach Torrian Gray says the youngest Fuller's ability to pick things up is "amazing," and Foster adds that Kendall has been around so long, it's almost like he went through spring practice.

The Hokies need Kendall to live up to the praise when the games start. They open against two-time defending national champion Alabama, a game Kendall Fuller simply sums as, "Welcome to college football."
