Detroit has won 17 of the club's last 23 games against Texas at the CoPa, including two of three games in the ALCS last season.
Despite a winning record against Texas at home, the Tigers couldn't stop the Rangers and lost 3-2 in 11 innings Sunday afternoon.
Pitcher Thad Weber was making his major league debut when a controversial call, which proved to be the game-winner, occured.
Weber was facing Alberto Gonzalez. Gonzalez laid down a squeeze bunt with bases loaded, and the runner at third scored.
Replays showed Gonzalez was hit by the ball on his own bunt, but the umpires didn't catch the call.
"It came down and hit him on the back of the knee... clearly," said manager Jim Leyland.
"Four guys happened to miss it. That's part of the game."
