GRETNA, Va. -

The Gretna football team is looking for a new coach.

Kevin Saunders announced his resignation Monday morning.

Saunders has been named the head coach at Cross Keys High School in Atlanta.

Saunders is a Radford native. He went 49-15 in five seasons with the Hawks. He led Gretna to the 2011 state championship and a runner-up the previous season.

The Hawks went 14-8 in the past two seasons and were knocked out of the playoffs both years.
