LYNCHBURG, Va. -

At City Stadium in Lynchburg, Frankie Hickson and the Heritage Pioneers looked to continue to run the ball with some authority against Amherst County.  The Lancers picked up their first win of the season last Friday against Rockbridge.

Both teams got to work early in the first half.

Dominque Brown took the ball on a 24 yard run and landed just short of the goal line.

Clarence Henley took the handoff and finished the drive with a touchdown to make it 7 to nothing, Amherst.

On the next Lancer possession, Elijah Gallagher intercepted and went on a 64 yard run for the Pioneers.

Heritage finished the drive with a field goal to making it 7 to 3.

D-A Christian took the game back for Amherst with a 47 yard run, putting the Lancers up 14 to 3.

Heritage answered with a 75 yard run by Tyquante Simms. Simms finished the drive with a catch and ran the ball in for a Heritage touchdown.

The Pioneers went on to win 25 to 21.
