In Christiansburg, the Blue Demons were anxious to get the taste of last week's upset loss to Giles out of their mouths.  And that didn't bode well for Bassett. Coach Tim Cromer's team was looking to get back on the winning side after a loss to Giles last week.

On the game's opening kickoff Asher Vaughn raced up the middle of the field, fought off a few blocks, and brought it close to Carroll County territory.

Five plays later Tanner Reed took a handoff around the right side, raced for the pylon and got in for the 9-yard TD. It was 7-0 Demons early first quarter.

On Bassett's second play from scrimmage, Devontae Jordan rolled right and hit Tay Ross for 15 yards. That brought it into Blue Demon territory.

Five plays later the same duo struck again. This time striking paydirt for a 12-yard connection to even things at 7 apiece.
Later in the first quarter, Christiansburg's Aaron Cridlin bounced it off the right side for 25 yards, and down to the Bengals' 1 yard line. They scored on the next play.

Christiansburg pulled away from there to get back in the winning column, 40-13.
