MARTINSVILLE, Va. -

In Martinsville at Dan Greene Stadium, one team would pick up its first win of the season this week, either the homestanding Bulldogs or the Cave Spring Knights.

The student body was showed the spirit tonight in the Ville, cheering on the Dogs.

Early in the first, Cave Spring's Kyle Curtis fielded the punt on his own 35.  He did some dirty work, spun out of several tackles and it took the whole city of Martinsville to bring him down at the 8 yard line.

Two plays later, Jon Roach fought through to put the Knights on top 7--nothing and Roach was just getting started.

Just a few minutes later he was off and running, bustin' loose on a 40 yard gallop through the defense and to the house to make it a two score lead for the visiting Knights.

Martinsville's Jordan Riggs got his team on the board with a 22 yard field goal but it was not enough.

Cave Spring won it  24 to 9.
