ROANOKE, Va. -

The 1973 Patrick Henry team was back at PH Friday night as this year's Patriots hosted Christiansburg, hoping the homestanding Patriots could hang on in the 6A playoff chase.

Members of that state title team were honored Thursday night at halftime including star quarterback Dr. Donnie Smith.
There was plenty of great quarterbacking in this one. The Blue Demons were down big but Chris Jackson keeps fighting, losing his helmet but gets in from a yard out to make it 28-22 PH midway in the third.

On the Demons' next drive, Jackson went to the air connecting with Jakob Hamley and he got both feet down the endzone for the 25-yard touchdown . Christiansburg now on top 29 - 28.

The Patriots work down the field for an answer and Quishon Calfee moves the pile across the goal line for the go-ahead touchdown.

PH went for 2 as Calfee lobbed it to Marcus Terry and he hangs on leading Patrick Henry to the 36 - 29 win.
