For our Haley Toyota FFE Flashback moment, we turn back the clock to 1992 when WDBJ7 asked Parry McCluer and Glenvar to play their Pioneer District title game on a Saturday afternoon so that we could televise it live.

On November 14, 1992 the Parry McCluer/Glenvar game in Highlander Heaven was an extension of Friday Football Extra.  With six cameras and a staff of more than 30 people, WDBJ7 televised the Single A showdown.

Mike Stevens handled the play-by-play duties while the late Roy Stanley took care of color commentary.

Glenvar won the game that day 16 to 7, and the ratings were surprisingly good.  It garnered more viewers than the Notre Dame game that afternoon and as many as the ACC's Game of the Week.>>

Figures like Bob Williams, Brian Hooker, Brandon Semones and Eric Wheeler lifted both schools to some amazing heights over the years.
