This week the Haley Toyota FFE Flashback takes a look at when football merged with the golf world back in October of 1997.  Sam Snead recorded 82 career victories on the PGA Tour, but on Halloween night 16 years ago, he was inducted as a charter member of the Bath County Hall of Fame at halftime of the Chargers game with Covington that year.

Bath's Brandon Woodard ran roughshod over Covington that night to the tune of 203 yards and 3 scores in a 34-27 win, earning him player of the week honors.

Slammin' Sammy passed away in May of 2002, but the previous December, he bought state championship rings for each and every player and coach on the Chargers 2001 title team.
