Altavista hosted Franklin team on Friday night that ended the Colonels season a year ago, 41 to 11.

Franklin made the drive west on 460 and the coin toss was about as close as they got to winning.

On the opening kickoff, Juan Thornhill recovered the short kick for the Colonels, and Altavista quickly had something going at the Franklin 28.

Three plays later, Thornhill shakes and bakes and then hits a wide open Demtri Maulbeck for 27 yards and a score to put the Colonels on the board at 7-0.

The defense held for a Broncos three-and-out, and Clydale Moon then goes to work. He goes through the gaping hole in the line on the dive play and wins the footrace of 81 yards to the endzone. Altavista was on top 14 to nothing following the Moon TD stroll.

The Colonels were just getting started. Thornhill kept it himself, using some fleet feet on a 35-yard scoring jaunt to put Altavista up by three scores at 21-nothing.

It was Thornhill again on the option with the little head fake and he strolled in for six more. Altavista humbles Franklin, 57 to 14 the final.
