Wythe County bragging rights were on the line at Fort Chiswell as the Pioneers clashed with George Wythe in a matchup of 1-0 teams.
It was another beautiful night at the Fort where the fans packed the hill to cheer on the Pioneers.
The Pioneers went to work up 3-0 and were on the trail again. After starting on their own 24 and moving into George Wythe territory, Dallas Ward gets the call and took the handoff 14 yards to the Maroons 22 to put Fort Chiswell in business.
A few plays later, Ward toted the mail again, this time breaking into the endzone capping a 76-yard drive with a 5-yard touchdown run, making it 10-0.
Fort Chiswell's defense then got on the board by bringing down Darius Moore in the endzone for a Pioneers safety and a 12-0 spread.
After taking the free kick, Fort Chiswell's Brett Mabry found Hunter Armbrister, who broke free down the sidelines for a 28-yard gain to the George Wythe 2-yard line.
Ward then punched it in for his second TD of the night as Fort Chiswell rolled past George Wythe, 36-7.
