Hidden Valley looks to improve from last season
Hidden Valley's Football team is coming-off a 6-5 year, which ended in the first round of the playoffs to Christiansburg.
Of their 16 seniors that they graduated, their biggest hit comes from losing Jake Kite, who's playing football at Duke this Fall. "You know, it's not one of those situations where you're trying to fill the shoes of someone like Jake," said Head Coach Scott Weaver. "It's just one of those things where we'll adjust what we do with the players we have and I think we're doing a good job of stepping into those positions." Another one of the spots they need to fill is at the quarterback position, where Sophomore Jake Smiley will be the guy taking the snaps for the Titans. Even though they've got an underclassman leading the offense,, the Titans still have high expectations to return to the playoffs and make it even further than they did last year.
"I'd say nothing shy of a championship, said Junior Mason Dermott. "We always want to get the farthest we can be, get through playoffs and win a state championship "
The Titans open their season at home against Patrick Henry.
