This week in Lynchburg, Liberty faced Heritage at City Stadium. The Pioneers were still unbeaten, despite having to come from behind several times this year. But quarterback Austin Fitzgerald, and running back Frankie Hickson have thrived in starring roles and Brad Bradley's team had refused to lose.
It was senior night for the Pioneers. Players and their families got their moment in the spotlight before the game.
The Minutemen nearly spoiled the festivities. Devin Carper punched through the Heritage line to put Liberty on the board, six to nothing early.
Frankie Hickson tried to get things going for the Pioneers. He popped one to the outside for a first down but Heritage doesn't get anything out of the drive.
Liberty took over again.
Carper went again on the charge, grabbing a first down before hitting the Heritage wall.
Heritage went on to beat Liberty, 30 to 27.
