LEXINGTON, Va. -

Rockbridge suffered perhaps the most humbling defeat in week one, falling 17-16 to neighbor Parry McCluer.  But two days later Head Coach Jason White became a dad again with the birth of Preston Michael White, putting things in perspective as Coach White called it--his best worst weekend ever.

This weeks game was a rematch of last year's opening round playoff tussle.

Liberty went 5 plays and 62 yards on the opening drive.  Austin Porter called his own number, kept on the option and turned the corner.  He rambled 44 yards to paydirt, outrunning the defense and the Minutemen were leading 7-zip just two minutes in.

Rockbridge faced a 4th and 8 when Cameron Wood found John Colliton for ten yards and first down to keep the drive alive.

Matthew Bennington cashed in with this 2 yard run up the gut to put the Wildcats on the board.  A missed PAT left the score at 7-6.

Liberty was trying to come up with a fourth down conversion as well.  Treon Brawley hauled in the catch from Porter and picked up 15 yards to the Rockbridge 21.

The play drive ended when Porter ran the option again, doing it all by himself from 11 yards out.  Liberty led 14-6 and the Minutemen improved to 2 and 0, by beating Rockbridge 39 to 19.
