GILES, Va. -

Narrows and Giles renewed their rivalry this week in Pearisburg where the Green Wave was in the midst of its first two game winning streak since 2008, but had lost 10 in a row against the Spartans dating back to 2003.

Narrows got the ball first on the opening drive but Giles held them to 3 and out.  Terrence Martin punted off the side of his foot to avoid the block from Cameron Perkins giving Giles great field position at the 18 yard line.

A few plays later Tyler Perdue broke free for the 10-yard run, finding endzone to give Giles a 7-0 lead with 9:49 left in the 1st quarter.

Narrows had the ball and Giles kept the pressure on. Zach Simmons sacked Narrows Q-B Joseph Hall on 3rd down for a loss of 9 on the play.

The Spartans then turned the defense into offense. John Teats broke off a 15 yard run to put Giles in the red zone. And the Spartans were knocking on the door again.

A couple of plays later Dusty Boggess ran it in on a six yard score to make it a 14-0 Giles lead late in the opening quarter.

The Spartans dominated this one, beating the Green Wave for the 11th consecutive time 47 to 8.
