VINTON, Va. -

The Parry McCluer Fighting Blues were at 3 and 1 and visiting Roanoke Catholic at Vinyard Park this.  Mike Craft's team had just one loss coming in, to Greenbrier East, a much bigger school.

The Celtics were hoping to play spoiler and get above 500- this week.

But it was a fast start for the fighting Blues. On the first play from scrimmage. Ryheem Dawson got the handoff, swept left and went all the way down the field into the endzone as Parry McCluer took an early 7-0 lead off one play.

Roanoke Catholic would move the ball then turn it over on downs, opening up Dawson again down the field who broke loose for another score.. The extra point failed but Fighting Blues were up 13-0.

On the next possession, they faked the handoff to Dawson but then threw to him as he tip-toed down the sidelines into the house.

Parry McCluer rolled to victory 34-7 over Roanoke Catholic.
