ROANOKE, Va. -

The annual battle for the Noel C. Taylor Trophy took place this week at William Fleming where the Colonels were hoping to break a three game losing skid in the series with Roanoke city rival Patrick Henry.  The Patriots were trying to secure a first round home game next week in the 6A ranks.

The Patriots wasted no time getting things started on offense. Trevor Mike took the ball on PH's first drive, broke free and sprinted downfield untouched to put the Patriots on the board early in the first. Just like that it was 7 to nothing..

The Patriots didn't only make big plays on offense, senior Damian Davis took down Brandon Johnson for a 5 yard loss.

Back on offense, Patrick Henry rolled out the option. Quishon Calfee pitched to Trevor Mike. He took the ball deep into William Fleming territory inside the 10. Calfee went to the air and found Sergio Thompson. He scored the second Patriots TD of the night. The 2 point conversion was good and it was 15 to nothing Patrick Henry

The Patriots continued to stay dominant on offense. This time on a Q-B keeper,  Calfee sprinted downfield untouched into the endzone for 6.  It was 21-nothing and Patrick Henry rolled past Fleming 35 to 0.
