The Radford Bobcats were still in the playoff hunt but just barely. This week Matthew Saunders and company faced Auburn, losers of two straight games, following a fast start.
This game was tied at 8 at halftime and the crowd was amped for a thrilling finish.
Auburn worked its way to the 17 and then Max Tomlin knocked back the 34 yard field goal and it was 11 to 8 Eagles in the third.
Both teams struggled until Radford's Donald Baylor found Rasheed Jordan at the three yard line late in the fourth quarter.
Two plays later, Baylor fumbled the goal line snap but hung on to give the Bobcats one more shot.
It was fourth and inches and the Bobcats went for it. It was Isaiah Carter doing the honors. Radford was on top 15 to 11 with under two minutes to play.
Auburn was down to its last shot but Gabe Spencer's fourth down pass got picked off by De'Andre Cook to seal it. Radford is 2 and 0 in the Three Rivers with the four point win thanks to a gutty call on fourth down.
