Way back in August, Fort Chiswell blew out Rural Retreat 49 to 7. Coach Stephen James and the Pioneers hoped history would repeat itself this week.
The Pioneers were ready for the rematch on their home turf.
Patrick Beidleman got the party started for the Fort, taking the hand off from Brett Mabry on an 8 yard touchdown run to put the Pioneers on the board first.
The defense then forced the Indians three and out. Chase Rathbone went back to receive the punt at midfield and he brought one back to the Indians 14 yard line on a 36 yard return.
That setup Dallas Ward and he knew what to do with it on the 12 yard scamper for 6 more. And it was 14-nothing Fort Chiswell.
Here's what kind of night it was for Rural Retreat. They coughed it up on the fumble and Garrison Byus picked up the ball and took it all the way to the 8 yard line.
Beidleman turned that into more Pioneer points. Fort Chiswell led 21-nothing and the Pioneers advance with the 52 to 8 win.
